Gang Resistance Education and Training (G. R. E. A. T.)The G. R. E. A. T. Program is a school- based, officer- instructed classroom curriculum designed to help prevent today's children from becoming tomorrow's gang members. By focusing on teaching skills to help students avoid using violence to solve problems, the program helps to reduce delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership in our community. Enrichment and Prevention Programs for Youth JEOPARDY PROGRAM An anti-gang program implemented in 1990 for at-risk youths. Efforts are focused on two target groups. School Resource Officers help students see another, humanizing side of police officers that some otherwise might not be accustomed to. The officers serve as liaisons between the police department and the schools in which they serve, educating and advising students in those schools. All resource officers carry an additional certification through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in order to work within the schools. Kid Identification. Our Kid Identification program offers piece of mind to parents, should the unthinkable ever happen, and their child go missing. Additionally, we take a digital picture and scan the child.
